The Fruits: Peace

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.

Galatians 5:22

This week, I have the privilege of writing about someone who has become very dear to me the past few months.

When I first met Aynsley, I knew there was something different about her. And not in the "Oh, she's special" type of way, but there was something different about the way she carried herself. There was an air of confidence about her, and one that is very rare to come across. But when you find that in a person, you should keep them. Because it helps make you better.

After hanging out with her, I realized that Aynsley is at peace with who she is. She knows she's the daughter of the King, and doesn't stress too much about anything because she trusts God's plan. She always very thankful, and reminds me often that I just need to chill out.

Since the fall, humans have had trouble being at peace. The Bible says that the devil prowls around like a lion, seeking to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The worry and doubt we have in our hearts is part of living in a broken world, surrounded by sin.

But Aynsley reminds me of the beautiful parts of living for a Savior who provides ultimate peace. Whenever I'm with her, I'm never worried or anxious. She always knows exactly what to say, and is the best person to sit in silence with. She is calm and easy going, and is never in a hurry to figure out the next step. She acts with confidence and assurance, and is always the easiest person in the room to talk to.

I think everyone should have an Aynsley.

Aynsley is so wonderfully confident with her life, that there is never a doubt about who she is. While we don't have Christ on Earth with us, Aynsley reminds me of the peace that can only be found in our Savior. Aynsley never fails to make the people around her laugh, and treats everyone with such love and kindness.

To me, Aynsley is the physical embodiment of living for a Savior who provides ultimate peace. She actively pursues the Lord, and is the peacemaker in all situations. She tries to avoid conflict, and always speaks with love and compassion.

In a world that is so stressful and anxious, it's easy to forget about peace, or the part it plays in our lives. But when you  take time to appreciate the people around you, it's so easy to see recognize the peace that our Savior provides.
